Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor, popular for his role in the popular television show 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. In his first years of college, Meloni was interested in the field of acting. After that, he attended The University of Colorado at Boulder. While he's appeared in both films and television, however it is his roles on the smaller screen that gave him popularity and much fan following. He can play two characters, one from the perspective of police officers and different. This is what has made him so popular. He was the character of the serial killer on his debut television show and then later played of an NYPD detective. In recognition of his performance on tiny screens, he's been awarded numerous nominations for the prestigious Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. One of his most distinctive face features is thought to be the sharp blue eyes that have allowed him to portray characters who have a rough, charismatic look. People's magazine's Sexiest Men Alive 2006 featured him.
